    GTX 1060 // Games not starting up because of Direct3D/X Error.

    Hey Everyone!
    Around in January, I bought a Predator G3. Everything was working perfectly, games like Forza, Fifa 18 and Rocket league were working without a sweat. Now, games are not running as they used to. I’ve downloaded a Unity game and it came up with this…

    Failed to initialize Direct3D.
    Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your
    graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration
    in display settings.
    InitializeEngineGraphics failed


    I’ve also downloaded a PC version of Rules Of Survival and it came up with this error…


    Failed to init Render module!

    I don’t know what I did and how to fix it. I also launched the DirectX diagnostics tool here what it came up with (Note: I’ve just hidden some things that might be confidential)

      Welcome to PCHF Alanisme124,

      There is no GTX 1060 listed in the list of specs in your OP, do the following for us if you will;

      Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

      To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

      In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.
      In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.
      Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

          The GTX 1060 and Nvidea software are present in Speccy and the card shown to be the primary graphics so not sure why it did not show up in your dxdiag report, was the card connected to your monitor when you ran dxdiag.

          Download Display Driver Uninstaller DDU from here
          Download and save an earlier version of drivers for your video card.
          Create a new system restore point.
          Run DDU to uninstall the present video card drivers.
          Restart the computer in Safe Mode only (no networking) install the drivers that you saved, restart and test.

          Your PSU readings look off in Speccy so we should also check them, see below;

          Download Speedfan and install it. Once it’s installed, run the program and post here the information it shows. The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.
          If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

          So that we have a comparison to Speedfan, download, run and grab a screenshot of HWMonitor (free).

          To capture and post a screenshot;

          Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start…all programs…accessories…paint…left click in the white area …press CTRL + V…click on file…click on save…save it to your desktop…name it something related to the screen your capturing… BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG …otherwise it may be to big to upload… after typing in any response you have… click on Upload a File to add the screenshot.

          Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.

            Uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it (without Internet) did no good :/. When I showed you the DirectX Diagnostics text the GTX 1060 was in the PC… Here’s the Speed Fan and HW Monitor Pictures… [ATTACH]3627[/ATTACH][ATTACH]3628[/ATTACH]
            When in safe mode I tried a unity game and it worked perfectly as the Intel i7 being a video card…

            Hopefully, this gets resolved soon!

              Your results are showing out of wack voltages from the PSU, high memory and CPU usage + high system temperatures, these are common signs of a flaky power supply.

              You may need to take off the side of the case to get this information but we could do with knowing the brand and model name or number of the PSU, see attachment below.

              Unless you disconnected the screen from the GTX 1060 and connected it to one of the video ports on the motherboard you are not using the i7 graphics solution, you are still using the GTX 1060 but with only the minimum amount of drivers loaded and the computer under the least amount of load.

              If you are in a hurry to get this sorted I suggest that you have a local tech or tech store take a look, members and staff that give their time for free helping others on the forums come from all over the world and from many different time zones, this means that there can sometimes be a delay between replies.
