Whenever, I play games etc, the fans go to 100% and starts spinning really loudly. This might be normal, however, the issue I have with this is that the fan is idle than goes to 100%, than turns idle, in a continuing cycle. I initially thought that the gpu fan would spin continuously to keep the card cool without the need for the fans going to 100% and than turning off .This has been happening for a few years but I didn’t feel like addressing this issue, but its become an annoyance lately.
The card I am using is VTX3D HD 7870 Black Edition.
That’s what your GPU fans are supposed to do.
If the Fan speed is very pronounced, I would remove the GPU plastic fan cover and clean out the heatsink fins properly.
If this card has been running for years, fresh heatsink paste on the card, wouldn’t go astray.
Set the GPU fan speed manually, can be done, however I wouldn’t try that as it could quickly overheat playing heavy games.

I’ve cleaned my pc recently, taking off the gpu fan cover, changed the thermal paste, what i find weird is that the fan never goes off and works at a slower speed to cool it down, Its either that the fans do not spin at all or 100%, I guess its what the fans meant to do tho.
