    Problem booting up desktop

When I start my pc it says my mainboard name like normal, then some white text on a black screen, then immediately switches to b lack screen with a flashing white bar at the top left of the screen and it stops reading my input.

I suspect your drives are failing the initial POST test.
Disconnect all drives. Boot again. Did anything change? If yes, a drive failure. Test one drive at a time.

I could be wrong. You could be describing a successful POST on all hardware and your OS is hanging.
one way to test this is to insert a bootable media disk and see if anything is different. If yes - DO NOT PROCEED.

What operating system and what specific PC model?
