Computer not detecting RAM / Crashing

Hi, so i recently built a new gaming PC and am currently running 2 GB of RAM (1 GB card in 2 slots) and it seems to be running fine. However, when i swap the 2 GB RAM sticks with the 8 GB DDR3 one, my computer does not load at all. I’ve tried using all 3 RAM sticks and it loads into BIOS fine however it does not detect my 8 GB RAM. This is the motherboard and RAM i have

Motherboard: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500
RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY Black 8GB DDR3 1600hz

The RAM running atm is on 1333hz

I can provide more info once requested.

    Welcome to PCHF.

You can check if the new ram is even compatible with your machine with the Crucial Memory Scanner.

The Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 is a socket 775 processor first released in January 2008 and is not a motherboard.

The original RAM is most likely DDR2 that requires 1.8V and will only run as fast as the Core 2 Duo E8500 is capable of handling.

If you have managed to fit this stick of RAM in any slot without forcing it, this would suggest that your MB is a hybrid that has two DDR2 and two DDR3 slots, if yes, this would go some way to explaining why the 8GB stick is not working, you cannot mix and match the voltages of the two types of RAM, one voltage would be too much for the one type of RAM and the other not enough.

Can you post the full brand and model name or number of the MB for us so that we can do some research.
