    Hello

What size was your previous HDD?

Hopefully some of our members will chime in soon.

Hi @paul190 and welcome to PCHF

I see that you replaced the HD, but did you replace the SATA cable too? Sometimes it’s just a bad SATA cable that is the issue Also double and triple-check to make sure all connections are secure, tight, and clean. Is your BIOS up-to date as well? Have you tried restoring settings to default to rule out bad BIOS settings?

If a new or spare SATA cable (one that you can verify works) still says the HD can’t be seen and/or you’ve done all the above, it may very well by the motherboard that’s the problem.

Tried default BIOS,no luck there. Every thing else on the board seems o.k.

Found this mb,intel BLKDZ68DB w/ Z68 chip set.It does not have as many features as mine, but at least
it will accept cpu & ram.Any thoughts on INTEL boards, good or bad? Thanks for the input all.
