How to tell if Centrino Duo or Core2 Duo?

    Hi…
I’ve recently been discovering the world of Core2 vs Core, Core2 Duo, vs. Core2, etc. And I’ve stumbled upon “Intel Centrino”, and have become aware that a laptop I have may be either a Centrino or just a Core2 Duo. I’d like help identifying it, and also sorting out some confusion upon Core2 vs. Core2 Duo. My processor is a Core2 Duo T7600, so is it a Centrino Processor or just a regular old Core2 (Duo)?

    Hello Nick,

Your CPU is the newer 2 core/2 thread Merom Napa Refresh platform, see info here

This means that it’s a Centrino right?

Correct, your CPU is a third generation Centrino processor.
