    KingSpec PATA SSDs?

I just bought a KingSpec IDE SSD from “Hot Deals 4 Less” on Amazon, and while I did get the MLC model, the computer I’m putting it in will definitely not be used every day. So what do you all think of these SSDs?

    Sorry Nick.
I haven’t used one of these SSD’s so can’t comment.
I will only use Samsung 850 Evo SSD’s.

Y’know, I only use Samsung 850 EVOs aswell, but obviously, Samsung doesn’t make IDE SSDs lol

Nick, as SSDs go, this one seems very slow. Must be the PATA connection. Out of curiosity, why did you buy it?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8000 with a lot of sentimental value, and its original IBM Travelstar 20gb HD was failing. So, I found this IDE SSD, which is more than enough storage for that computer and it was pretty dang cheap so I went for it.

Saving an old favorite, reason enough.

Hopefully I’ll have an update soon. We can close this for now and I’ll reopen it if something I’ve done has caused the SSD to light my computer on fire.
