Hi Gavin.
After checking this out for you, yes the H45 will fit in the Zalman r1 case.
The radiator will only fit in one place, and that’s where the case rear fan is situated.
The H45 does not come with heatsink pre applied.
Excellent cooler, but the Zalman r1 case has some weaknesses which you can live with, for the money.
Hope this helps.Comment

Hope no one minds the interjection
Couple of questions if I may Gavin;
What is your maximum budget for the case.
Is this hardware what has been used in the computer that was overheating.**
Have you or do you plan on overclocking your hardware.

Of course we don’t mind, Phillpower2
I don’t like this case at all. Breathing is terrible, front fan restrictions, top fan restrictions. Can’t secure HDD’s properly.
I would not use this case, especially if gaming is intended.
Wanting to fit this type of cooler makes me think games are intended.
I watched Linus check out this case. That was enough for me.
If I had to use this case I would be pulling off the front cover door and top cover to try and get some breathing into this case.

Thanks Dougie (y)
Will wait and see what Gavin has in mind for a budget for now but like yourself I would not purchase the Zalman r1 case either, some good ideas in the design but poor quality in the manufacture and that is reflected in the cost of the case and the multitude of bad reviews on various sites.Comment
