Sorry, by that I meant I take back the fact that it’s working, not the fact that you’ve been very helpful, just re read what I wrote and don’t want it to be take the wrong way

Aye got that and was referring to the fact that you said in your replies #13 and #15 that your MB was bad, that you would be returning it and was asking you to let us know how things went with the new MB.

Could all this be caused by dead sticks of ram? Maybe one of the ports on the original MB became faulty and killed my ram?

Yes it is possible…I suggest you do a memory check and or test each stick.

I have tried each stick of ram in each port and still nothing, how do I do a memory check?

Hi Brinky. Did you make sure the RAM is indeed good by testing the RAM sticks in another working system?

Did you try reseating the power cables that are connected to the power supply and motherboard?

Unfortunately I don’t have another system to test them in but they were working before this issue started, Yes I have reseated all the cables but still nothing, this is also the 3rd motherboard so they have all been reseated a few times

Too late now but it would have been best if you had post back before putting anything together as it would have been advised that you do a barebones test outside of the case and obtain a BIOS error speaker first, you can and should still do both but can I just remind you that it could be the CPU that is bad

I got myself one of those speakers, when starting it up with no sticks of ram it repeatedly beeps, but when starting it up with the ram installed it does a single beep on startup and that’s it, I’m assuming this means the ram is okay and the problem is elsewhere, possibly the cpu as you said? Is there anything I should try?
