Hey guys this forum is really helpful so i thought i’d ask for help again. my gf is looking to upgrade her PC. shes mainly using her pc for Photoshop and gaming ( nothing too high end ) these are her PC specs right now.
    i7-920
    p6t asus motherboard
    gtx 660 OC
    8gb ram
    750w PSU

her budget is around £250 help is greatly appreciate also if possible i would like to stick to Intel so an i5 or better would be good.

Personally I would just add dual GPU,s,more RAM and maybe look into whether the PSU has the connections and power to run dual GPU,s…
But really it depends on what games the girlfriend plays online,is it Farmville,Candy Crush or more intensive games such as W.O.W?
If its just low ended games such as Candy Crush then really I would not borther upgrading the computer it has ample memory, power and hardware.

      JB.

For a cpu i was looking at something like I5-4690. Amazon.co.uk no sure which motherboard to pair it with.
Or something like this would be worth ? Amazon.co.uk

Ok,firstly what is the exact make and model of your mainboard because they come in different grades or higher and lower spec?

            Here is an example

            A P6T cpu support

I upped the price range a bit considering but what do you think .

                  Thanks for the information.

Ok so the mainboard I posted is your make and model.
The second link I posted lists the compat CPU list, its lists i7,s.

Your PCPartPicker link only shows buttons to make choices.
If you could redo it and screen shot your list of choices…?

                  Thanks.

                  JB.

                        Thanks for the info.
The mainboard does not support Sli nor XFire. So depending on what setup you are looking for and if you want to add dual GPU,s at a later date or during the main build. You may consider changing the mainboard to one that does support Sli or XFire.Comes in handy if you want to run upto four monitors and a TV off of the computer.
CPU appears fine its 3.2 ghz quad core.
RAM I would consider Corsaire or OCZ.We all have our favorites though.
                        The case is
                        Motherboard Compatibility
                        ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX.
Depending on the PSU,GPU,HDD,CD/DVD drives all the extras you may add such as cooling fans, they would all need to fit in the case allowing also for air flow.
What will you be doing on the computer,WOW,mixing music,do want a media PC?
Are you after building smaller compact computer tower?

                        JB?

Thanks for the reply. Gf will use the computer for gaming ( MMO’s) Some FPS’S and Photoshop. She mainly picked that case just for the look of it. The tower she has now is huge so she wanted to cut some room. SLI/XFIRE isn’t really needed a single GPU will always be fine.
