Did I get a faulty Asus HD7870 as a gift or is the PSU too weak?

After replacing the old graphic card with the Asus HD7870-DC2-2GD5-V2,
the only thing that happens after switching the computer on is beeping (2x and then 8x more times, there is also normal beeping after 0:08 in the video). Does this mean that the graphic card is broken/damaged or that there is not enough power for it (the PSU is Zeus 560W)?
Take a look (I’ve uploaded it to YT since here video files are not supported):

The specs say 225W for that card, so your power supply is probably marginal depending what else you have in your pc? Did you remove the old video card drivers before you installed the new one?

It is possible you have bad memory and a bad card, try reinstalling the old one again?
You could also test your ram.

    System specs would be good..

What model is your motherboard? Each motherboard’s beeps indicate different errors. It’s different for each motherboard

Follow this guide HERE and remove your existing NVidia drivers. Then if your system boots install the AMD drivers for your card.

I understand, but, do you believe that the drivers could be actually preventing the system from event booting up and showing anything on the screen? Because not even BIOS is visible, and I doubt the drivers are used in that part of the booting..?

Please remove the new card, replace the old card and see if all is well. If so remove the Nvidia drivers as per the guide. Then switch off PC, change to new card, reboot and if successful boot, install amd drivers.

If the PC doesnt boot with the old card then let us know.

The beep codes 2 short then 8 short means Post failure and Video device missing or defective. This does not mean the video card is bad but could mean the card is not compatible with the motherboard. The motherboard BIOS may not recognize the video card because of its age.
