PC possibly too hot and reducing peformance?

Hi, so for quite some time now my PC performance has been quite slow and I haven’t been able to consistently play games at a solid frame rate. In the past I haven’t had any problems playing games, but now my PC seems to struggle with play any kind of game. I think this may be because my system is overheating. I have attached 2 images on the current heat status of my computer, as I am not sure whether my computer is overheating and that’s what’s causing the slowdown. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    My Spec are: (Windows 10 - 64bit)
    Processor - Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
    Ram - 8.00 gb
    Hard Drive - 500gb
Graphics Card - AMD Radeon HD 6700M Series and Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000

    Thanks

    Hello

From those readings it is running bit hot.. Have you checked for dust inside your pc? How many fans to you have running? I saw one fan that was at 0 rpm’s. You may want to check your fans to make sure they are all running.

+1 on what Vger says, check for dust, if you have a way to remove any ccovers to access the fans do so, use compressed air to clean fans.

I have not checked inside my Laptop as I’m not sure how to. As for fans running, I only have two on the outside, however one runs more effectively than the other but as a result gets a lot hotter.

OK…So you have 2 graphic cards,i am assuming one of those vid cards is outside the laptop running via usb..correct? Is this where to 2 fans on the outside come in?

No, both graphics card are inside the laptop, they were both pre-installed. I assume one of them is at the front of the laptop near my mouse pad, as that area becomes extremely hot when the laptop is in high performance. The main fan isn’t near there though. My main fan is near my charging plug which is at the top left of the laptop.

Ah!..you may have to get you a cooling pad,if the suggestions that Mal has shown you doesn’t work. Also if you decide to use the 1st method that Mal posted and since you are not experienced in taking a laptop apart, you may want to try that 2nd method and or get you a cooling pad.

I did option two of what Mal said, as I have a HP Pavilion D7 and taking them apart to find the fan is extremely difficult and time consuming. So after doing option two I was able to play my games for longer without getting lag straight away. The area where I assume my Radeon graphics card is wasn’t so hot too begin with, but got warmer as time went on. I will test a bit more later, but I think option 2 has had an affect so far.

Might be it is a good idea to get yourself a cooling pad, since you are a gamer.
