When you say it “doesn’t boot up”, do you mean nothing happens or do you mean it is stuck on the BIOS screen or perhaps something else entirely.
The first thing I’d do if nothing happens is to swap out the power supply. Even if a hard drive needs checking, the screen should show something.
If nothing appears on the screen then it could mean a bad video chip/card or bad monito cable.
Please post the brand and exact model of computer so anyone reading can find the hardware specifications and age of the computer. These are both important when anyone tries to troubleshoot.Comment

Looks like a custom build with an ASUS motherboard. The MB specs can be found HERE. Information that might be helpful…

[li]Type of RAM (is it DDR3? and what speed? 1333/1600/1866mhz)[/li][li]What video card do you have onboard?[/li][li]Are you trying to OverClock the system?[/li][li]What Hard drive do you have installed?[/li][li]Is your Power Supply Unit sized right?[/li][li]Are the cooling fans running?[/li][/ol]
You issue could be many things so the more information you provide would be most helpful.Comment

By the way, a no boot situation can indicate a failed or failing hard drive. You mentioned drive errors. There drive errors can also indicate PSU issues.Comment

Hi harry wollman, Welcome to PCHF!
As other members mentioned, we need more information about the troubleshooting steps that you have tried so we can better assist you. Did the computer boot up previously with no issue and all of a sudden will no longer boot or have you put together a new computer build and its not booting up?
Before even pressing the power button on the case to boot the machine, do you see any lights on the motherboard light up?Comment

Ok so that’s good that you see activity with the machine. Does the computer make any beeps when the machine is powering on? Do you see the motherboard splash screen on your monitor or does the monitor remain black while the computer turns on? What CPU do you have inserted into your Asus motherboard?Comment

Have you checked your CPU for any bent pins? Have you made sure to clean the CPU and re-apply thermal compound to the chip before putting the heatsink and fan back on it?
Have you tried booting the machine with just one stick of RAM installed? Did you make any changes to the computer before this problem occurred?Comment
