    Hi,

    Let’s try this,

    [ATTACH type=“full” size=“195x66”]15023[/ATTACH]
type in: cmd and press ENTER
    Type in: chkdsk c: /f /r
Type in Y (Yes) and press ENTER
Close the command prompt window by typing exit and pressing ENTER
Now restart the computer using Start button → Shutdown → Restart
While the computer is booting back up, you should see a screen that says in 10 seconds a check disk will be performed. Verify if you see this screen or not, but do not press any key. Allow it to attempt to repair any bad sectors on the hard drive

Afterwards, try running the two suggested tools and give me their reports please

Describe any troubles you experience along the way

    Regards

Tried the command prompt and received a message that says, “the type of file system is NTFS”

The chkdsk c: /f /r finally worked! Attached are the two scan logs from the recommended tools.

            Hi,

I’m glad to hear that The two scanners were OK, nothing really of note there that would inidicate an infection is the cause of your issues. I’d like to focus more on the state of the hard drive

First, I’d like to see the results of the chkdsk scan you ran. Follow these steps to gather the chkdsklog.txt described in the article

            Regards

You did it correctly. FMRS cleared the relevant event viewer log.

                Do this one next:
                Code:
                   [IMG alt="1736669886686.webp"]https://pchelpforum.net/attachments/1736669886686-webp.15023/
                [ol]
[li]Type in: cmd and press ENTER[/li][li]Type in: sfc /scannow[/li][li]Press ENTER[/li][/ol]
This command usually takes a while as well, especially if it finds items to repair. Let me know how it goes

Looks like it went well. It said it found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.

                    Excellent

Last command I’d like you to try to get to run, This is the one that FRST hung up for 60 minutes before. Let me know how it goes:

                    DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

Then, rescan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and attach new FRST and Addition.txt logs. This time, however, please put a check mark in ‘List BCD’ prior to scanning

Ran the command prompt and FRST64 tool. Attached is the fixlog. I didn’t see an addition.txt log.

That was one of the original fixes, which ran to completion this time

Give me an update on how the computer is running

Also, please press the Scan button while FRST64.exe is open. This will generate the FRST and Addition.txt files for you.

The logs are clean. Continue with the following checks on your hardware

Ok, could be a bad solid state drive if SeaTools gives a fail on it. I advise gathering the data you need from it now and replacing it when you can.
