Here is a batch file to create a restore point for you, download it unzip to desktop run as admin.

Let’s get you an admin command prompt to your desktop as well.

Unzip run as admin this will create the command prompt for you that will run as admin automatically.

When we began, I had assumed all these problems were due to one thing. The waking up problem is completely solved. The sluggishness and mini-freezes are slightly better. I would like to avoid buying a new computer, if possible. I have been slow lately because I use it for work and have been limping along with it. Today is a holiday and I aim to finish all the things you’ve listed. If nothing changes, I’ll have to upgrade.

What would cause Blackbird to load? It didn’t load automatically so I dbl-clicked it. I got the same 3 options as before, so I closed it.

              Go to post #77
Download and unzip run both batch files.
One will create a restore point and one will create an admin command prompt shortcut on your desktop.
Let me know when you have done that.

The restore point was created if you ran it, I imagine the command prompt was not created due to there being powershell commands in the batch file,

                    (Execution Policy on your machine)

No need to change that, I am uploading the shortcut for you.

                    Move onto the next step.

Now: Make sure that BlackBird.exe is on your desktop.

Hit the windows Key and R at the same time:

                                Copy this:
                                cmd /c %userprofile%\Desktop\blackbird.exe -registry

                                Paste into the run box.
                                Hit Enter or Click OK

                                Then when BlackBird loads.
                                Hit enter again.
                                Close the window when complete.
                                Now reboot the machine.
