    Has it crashed?

Can you run a clean boot and test as normal to see if it does it again please.
It is still locking up, but less frequently.

Yes that is a recovery partition I imagine. Have you placed the computer into a clean boot state?

No I haven’t. I am sure all these hard reboots have triggered that. Pushing the restart button all the time has to be taking its toll. When its booting back in, it takes forever for the task bar to show up.

There are some errors pertaining to svchost.exe but that could be any number of items. So download process explorer and keep an eye on your processes and see which one starts to chew ram or high cpu usage.

You could also go ahead and set the machine for a clean boot but not reboot, let it crash and the next time it restarts after a crash it wil be in a clean boot state.

Once you pinpoint the problematic process, I will provide instructions on how to dig a bit deeper.

How do I “set the machine for a clean boot but not reboot”?

How do I use process explorer to pinpoint the problematic process? I see a lot of stuff going on in the app but nothing clearly says “Problem” lol

Do the entire process but do not reboot.

Provide a screen shot of the top consuming process.

I sorted by CPU on the above snapshot

I sorted by process on the above snapshot and did not open the svhost submenu you see there. Maybe that is the one you mentioned earlier?

I’m going to put this thread on pause for a bit. You should post a new thread in the windows area, since this is no longer related to malware. Just include a link to this thread. ???

I need some other eyes on this and it’s the best way to do so.
