          Thank you Mal!

          Now the boot up was much slower than usual. I also can’t use the search bar, snipping tool, & when I hit power in the start menu it doesn’t pull up any of the options.

          I have not run the repair install yet.

              Did you run chkdsk /f /r
              or did you run something like crystal disk info

                  can you go Here and download crystal disk info
                  Install and run.
                  It will ask 32 or 64 bit for running
                  choose the 64 bit to run.
                  What does the result say.

                  After running this
                  Open the cmd
                  type in
                  chkdsk /f /r
                  Press enter

                    As far as I can tell, everything was restored after the repair install. Search bar, power options, snipping tool, thumbnails = all good!

                    I can’t thank you guys enough for your efforts in helping me restore my computer!
