Can't open Command Prompt & Other issue

Ok. After downloading, merging, and reboot, I am still unable to open cmd prompt

Download and merge the ico registry file from the same site , reboot the machine. Then run the tool I sent you earlier in the thread as admin. Reboot again.

Download and run a full scan with zemana while you are at it.

Let us know if the issues are now solved. I know the command prompt works. So I’d suggest you run the commands that @Bastet have provided earlier in the thread.

Deep scan came up clean. Still no thumbnails.

I still cannot open Powershell or Cmd Prompt as Administrator.. so i am unable to enter the commands she suggests. It will only let me open as normal user.

Download Runx.

Save to your desktop.

Download and install windows all in one repair tool.

Boot into safe mode.

Drag the all in one icon to the runx tool, run it with all boxes ticked.

Reboot the machine twice check the issue.

I did as you suggested and i received an error message saying the program would not run.

Also, it would only let me tick one box at a time.

Just as a test, enable the built in admin account and see if things work fine in it.

Since I cant access cmd prompt as admin i tried it in regular cmd prompt and it said

“access denied.
Error code 5”

Create a new admin user the standard way.

Have you tried an in-place repair using the media creation tool?
Download the tool, run it & choose to upgrade now.

So I created a new user and set the user as an admin. Logging in as the new user, i still am unable to run cmd prompt as an admin..

I also DL’ed the media creation tool and ran that. Still no admin use of cmd prompt.

Also now when I boot up, it says an Update is Required.

I initiate the update and it says “The BIOS Update has failed” and then lets me boot up.

Have you checked with the pc’s manufacturer to confirm how to update the BIOS?
If the in-place repair failed then I suspect it is time for a clean install of Windows.
