Here is my plan, I bought a new HDD. Going to put Windows 7 Ultimate on it and use that. The HDD I am currently(old) using will be removed. I would like to ensure that the computer is clean before this happens. Also, if I do that, can I connect the old HDD to the computer and pull files from it?
I am adding the prework files for infected computers.
Could I strongly suggest if you are going to fit a new hard drive and then change to a different version of Windows that you do a fresh install, and not copy over oodles of junk?
Yes it would be a fresh install, all I would be grabbing and dragging over is doc and pics. I would find the programs that I have currently and get a fresh download, such as web browsers and other programs.
Thanks for the help everyone, I really do appreciate everyone.
Suggest then if that’s the case you use your malware/av scanner to check your docs and pics before you move them over. That way you are covered.
Good luck with it
I see you use Avast and Malwarebytes, and they are both enabled(n). When you reinstall Windows make sure you dont run two security apps at once REGARDLESS of what you read. Sooner or later it will cause issues that can bring the pc to a halt. If you want to have Avast as your realtime protection fine, but only use Malwarebytes as a non realtime second opinion scanner.
I understand you are going to reinstall Windows and as such all your existing data will be destroyed. I scanned through your logs but there is no reason to spend much time on them if you are going to reformat the drive. Malware does not survive reformatting.
It appears that this issue is resolved, therefore I am closing the topic. If that is not the case and you need or wish to continue with this topic, please send me or any staff member a Personal Message (PM) that you would like this topic re-opened.

Call this a noob moment, but as far as the slow PC performance is considered closing down Malwarebytes(because it had real time protection on) fixed the issue. I forgot that you can’t have two Antivirus running because they fight each other on protection. I have a laptop and the plan was to move one of them over to the laptop and keep one on my PC. However, I never got around to it. Then when Gus, posted the above quote it dawned on me. Shut down the one and the performance issue was solved. I don’t really need to reformat anymore, though it would be a good idea considering I have had this PC for 10 years and because Windows is Windows. I am a little scared to backup the data and actually go through with the reformat. Ever since I got Twitch Affiliate, which allows me to make money through Twitch and streaming(Not meant to be a plug, is the real reason). I am scared to go through with the reformat. I will probably wait until I can get another HDD and clone it, this way I won’t lose anything. I would rather be extra careful, than to take the chance.
As far as the graphics card issue, I did some research on the graphics card. It is common for them to run that hot. I tired to look up to see if Nvidia had any data on temps that the cards should run at, but could not find any. I just found posts of people and the temps they ran at, most posted temps that mine runs at. So, if someone can update me on that. It would be wonderful.
Ok, thank you. I am not sure if the malware scans turned up anything, now that I think about it.
