seems having a modified HOSTS file as part of a layer security regime is not what it once was.
uBlock Origin does most of what a modified HOSTS file does, but only if it’s an added extension on all the browsers you are, and will ever, use.
the HOSTS file is at the PC level.
I’m getting the impression this sort of protection has fallen largely out of use!
