Hi @robertbrooks07 and welcome to PCHF

While there is no one perfect tool, there are lots of good anti-malware solutions. I personally use ESET Internet Security, Zemana Anti-Malware Premium, and Malwarebytes. Yes they are all paid for, but I wouldn’t use anything else

Basically, the best anti-virus is yourself. Good browsing habits, being wary of links, and just overall being cautious on the web and email is the best way to prevent infections

If you’re interested, the software I use is linked below:

ESET : Internet Security with antivirus protection | ESET

    Zemana : https://www.zemana.com/en-US

Malwarebytes : Premium cyber security protection | Malwarebytes

cWatch is a website malware removal tool designed for webmasters, not normal people who just need malware protection

COMODO does offer a free Internet Security suite, however I have found that it is very slow and sluggish. I would much prefer using Avast and COMODO’s standalone firewall.

There is no AV/malware removal tool that will not miss something at some point. My opinion is to use a resident realtime protection and a second opinion (non realtime) app.

And can I also throw into the mix, a good browser ad-blocker.
              I can recommend uBlock Origin.
(Oh, and a modified HOSTS file doesn’t hurt either, check out the one by MVPS at http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/ )

It’s all about layered security these days.
