Thanks for the link to the article. I donβt use a VPN. I was considering installing one just to be safe at open wifi free hotspots. I wouldnβt count on it to anonymous because sadly, data collection seems to be the order of the day.
I love how all my banks send these βprivacyβ policy papers. Why waste the paper. They collect my info, share it with others and even if I no longer use that bank, they still keep my info.
Between the Equifax leak and now the Exactis leak ( Exactis Data Leak May Have Exposed 230 Million Americans' Data | Fortune ) all my info is out there for anyone to see. -

VPNβs for sure. They better keep logs. Big companies like google though. You see how they track your location data.Comment

Privacy policies can be trusted if you read through them properly. For example, CyberGhost states that they do not keep logs, however, later in the privacy policy they mention that they have third-party apps that keep logs for them. They also mention that they keep βrecordsβ of certain non-personal information as well. You just have to read carefully if you care about your privacy.Comment

Thatβs contradictory though. It should be made clearer. I feel that companies are deliberately ambiguous about these things. In general. Like google. They track your location when location services are turned off. They specify this in privacy policy in different words but they donβt state it can be turned off within settings in google account.Comment
