Don't you just love Skype

Might just be me, second update in about as many weeks, might pay to wait a while before attempting to get the newest and latest bugs. And besides I’d rather a code 1 instead of code 2o_O

Ok so it got the better of me, nagging to update, then failing to is great fun..

So decided to uninstall it with Revo and start again, again..
No doesn’t want to know about it, but at least a shiny new error, yay.

Tried the latest Skype.msi file, which you don’t get an option to run as admin. Tried a Skype .exe installer which you can run as admin, but that gives new error codes 1909, and 2902. God it’s good fun looking up that carp.

There is a tool, actually 2 sra.exe and srt.exe apparently written to fix install errors, except not on my machine of course. Oh by the way Skype wont install in safe mode, another different error.

I fixed the sucker, after trying again and falling foul of the inability of Skype to create a Skype.lnk file, and no idea where it couldn’t do that. It seems the only thing that worked was to let the install fail, then locate any newly created folders and take ownership of the bloody things.

I am rejoicing because I have Skype again, and my the cuts in my wrists can now heal. Sorry to all my contacts who will have to approve me again. Will be online when I recover

That didnt work for me because I did try to install it in safe mode which obviously meant a restart twice to get back to normal mode. Add to that one of those so called Skype clean tools actually turned on Windows updates (which I had off in services) and rebooted as well. What a PITA.

Did I say I love Skype?

Thought you used the web version?

When I got the system with Windows 10 on it I started using the Skype App for the Store. No Adds or none I have ever seen.

With Mint I use the Linux Alpha version (64 bit only) and no ads there.

For the XP and Seven system I still use the Web version.

I found a new way to close Skype, click on Help, check for updates, and then Try the new Skype. That’s all it does, just closes Skype. Don’t you just love Microsloth?

Not really that is why I use Linux (Ten system croaked).
