    Kodi update

    Just updated Kodi to V17 Krypton from Jarvis and its the smoothest update yet, even though I backed up my profile, it was unnecessary. The new version is very slick except for the step back in time skin that is now the default. Good news is V16 Confluence skin installed and works beautifully. Fantastic app made better.

      Gus, I am not sure this is the place for this but only reference I could find for KODI..You folks have been great in helping me with my computer…now need some help on Kodi..when I go to their forums it is like reading greek…I am 75 yrs old and a real novice on this stuff…A friend put me onto Kodi but is as lost as me..know how to do the two things I got it for…live sports and movies…
      I under stand you can get a Kodi with nothing and add what you want( I got a fully loaded box on Amazon $90) I don’t want to spends that kind of money again and would like to set up a box with the two things I said above…
      Be able to watch the Redskins live and a couple of movie channels IE: Phoenix and Exodus ) or what you might recommend…is there a place to go to show me how to do this or could you or somebody on here show me…
      Any help would be appreciated;
      Thanks,
      Hefs

        Hi Hefs,
        Kodi, formally XBMC, was created as a media player and it is great for doing so. Where we must be careful is publicly discussing the promotion of streaming what may be copyrighted material through the add ons available for it. There is a bit of noise ATM about people selling “fully loaded” Kodi boxes, and it’s yet to be seen where that leads. Paying extra for these media boxes with Kodi and add ons is crazy stuff. Kodi is free, very simple to install, and there are hundreds of videos on youtube showing how easy the install Kodi and the available extras are.

        Unfortunately PCHF is not the arena for discussing your Kodi add on requirements.

        I currently have Kodi on an Intel NUC under windows, and on an Android TV box and they both are great at streaming “stuff” from my network.
