My Dell 7010 suddenly stopped connecting to my motel wifi. The antenna w network card USB connected seemed at fault so I got another one. Yet the new one also failed to connect. Here’s where it gets interesting… If I use my phone by accessing WiFi then USB theter with the same phone it connects. Now this is a workaround so I am curious why my antenna will not enable me to connect with WiFi but my phone connection will? Please advise

can you connect to another wifi network (not your phone’s) ?
maybe the motel has blocked it at their end?

You can also ask the motel person at the desk to reboot the router, I used to work on the road a lot and this is a common issue. You may be to far from the WiFi spot, or too many people are connected.

One work around I used to use, is to buy a WiFi booster, and then set a static ip.
