any chance the game is trying to download a patch or update or something similar?
and it’s all games you play?
and only slows down in games? if you are not in a game and surf the web, all is normal?

any common thread with all the games, like Steam or PunkBuster or similar?
and you have the latest Windows updates, GPU drivers, BIOS update, and game updates?
if the games can be played in standalone/offline mode, try that and see if the FPS rate drops.

sorry, I’ve got nothing else to add, I’ll tap out and see if someone else chimes in.
but since this only occurs in all games, and only games, there would be some process that these games share that is reducing your FPS rates - until that it identified, I see you chasing your tail down blind alleys.

I did a factory reset removing everything off my pc, fixed nothing, so it must be a problem with either my router, or my ethernet connecter
any ideas what it might be?

if it was your router or network in general, then all things web-based would be suffering - have you noticed internet speed reduces when surfing the web, watching you tube vids etc?
