WiFi keeps disconecting

I am running Windows 10 on a desktop using a USB WiFi connector. My PC often disconnects from my WiFi, but it reliably reconnects after the PC is rebooted. My Network and Internet Settings interface always tells me β€œConnected, no internet access” when this happens. Sometimes this happens ten times in a day, sometimes I go a few weeks without a problem.

This problem has persisted through (for entirely unrelated reasons) replacing my whole computer, switching ISPs, getting a new router, and replacing the USB WiFi connector. No other computer in the household has suffered this problem, which tells me it is probably local to the PC and coincidentally occurred on the last one, too. Suffice it to say, I’m a little stumped.

Yep, no luck. Problem persists through all USB ports.

Did this usb wifi come with any software? This could be a faulty wifi connector.

Going by the info in your OP two possible causes come to mind, the computer is too far away from the router or something is interfering with the signal from the router to your wireless dongle.

How far away is the PC from the router.

Any sort of device/s between the router and the PC that could be causing interference, such devices include BT devices, cordless telephones, microwave ovens, TVs, radios etc.

Do you have any software on this PC that was also installed on the previous one.

NB: veeg mentioned the USB ports but can I just ask that you make sure that if your computer has both USB 2.0 and 3.0 type ports that you always use the wireless dongle in the black USB 2.0 type and that you make sure selective suspend for the ports is disabled β€œhow to” here
