400 Bad Request This server does not support the operation requested by your client

Dear All

I have seen many thread like the one I am posting now but I couldn’t find a cure ,may be I overlooked or it is hiding somewhere on net I didn’t find it
I am trying to set Netgear Nighthawk D8500 with Firmware Version V1.0.3.50_1.0.1 as an Access Point and I was looking to change the LAN IPs then this message popped up
[ICODE]400 Bad Request This server does not support the operation requested by your client[/ICODE]
How can I overcome this issue ?

do one thing at a time.
change the IP address and after that’s done then update the routers firmware.
what device are you changing the IP of; the router, your PC?
don’t forget, once the IP changes you’ll losing connection to it and have to adjust your IP to access it accordingly.

This is what I have been doing

First I upgraded firmware ,All good
Second tries to change ip address ----> failed

so the firmware upgrade worked - instead of saying version x it now says version y?
and the router is working fine as well, despite being on an IP you want to change?

can you provide a screenshot of the menu area you are in when trying to change the IP?
I’m not familiar with that particular Nighthawk model.

now the new firmware is installed, have you reset the router back to factory settings, maybe an old configuration setting is no longer valid in the new firmware code.

Yes I did

and the router is working fine as well, despite being on an IP you want to change?

As it was secondary router I didn’t test to check internet connection i was trying to convert it to AP mode.

What I did I downgraded the firmware from V1.0.3.50_1.0.1 to V1.0.3.44_1.0.1 (one version older) and it worked fine now can change ip address disable DHCP,etc
