    Unknown IP address

    Hi all…

Im running win7 OS , huawei b900 router, with a VPN

Problem is I have an unidentified IP address which is not showing in my routers interface, Ive downloaded Wireless Network Watcher and Avira app on my phone which both show the IP address. Avira identifies it as HP Laptop, which I dont have.

Ive changed the routers password and started to initiate devices again, but then ran Wireless Network Watcher and Avira once more and the first thing to show up is the unidentified IP address. how is this possible?

Ive gone back into the routers interface (IP and Mac filters) and manually blacklisted the IP address and blocked the MAC address, but it still shows up..!

Can anyone shed some light on this, and could it be a problem?

    Thanks

let’s not jump to the worst case scenario just yet…

if you have rebooted the router, changed the password to access the router and the wireless network and blacklisted that MAC address then you have done all you can and should be safe.

      can you ping that IP?
what is your IP and the routers IP?
what is that HP Laptops IP?

      is this the router: https://3g.co.uk/home-broadband/huawei-ai-cube-b900
