Cannot access URL connections, mainly from typing in links and emails!

I am having problems when I type in a URL top of my 3 browsers.
It’s just not connecting through. This occurs on all 3 browsers (FF, Chrome, Bing)
Checking Speed-test shows: response time 181ms (Latency)
38 Mbps Download and Upload 9.5. Internet is live. ( https://broadbandtest.which.co.uk/ )

I can download URL links from any browser’s homepage showing thumbnails
of my recent viewing.

I cannot download URL links from my email’s inbox. It just hangs. I can click on a google
search link from Google search page, no problem. Watching videos on YouTube no problem.
There as to be an issue with my 17" Lenovo Z70 Laptop as I don’t have this problem
with my other smaller less powerful laptop.

I have to use a Netgear wireless-N Dual Band adapter to help boost the wifi signal from the hall
to the kitchen which is only 16 feet away . This computer’s WIFI card cannot obtain a signal without
it. It struggles even when it’s near to the router. It’s virtually a dead card!!

I have to say that the problems as outlined above have gradually gotten worse in the last few weeks.
It now affecting my work, so maybe it’s time for a change.

Could anyone shed some light what this issue could be, I would be very grateful for your help.

Thanks

what is the email software you use that won’t work with URL links?

and just to completely side-step any wireless issues, connect the laptop directly to the modem via an ethernet cable and see if anything changes.
(and reboot the modem too)

what is your OS and what AV software do you use?

The OS is Windows 10. AV software is Kaspersky. Yes I have connected the laptop directly to modem and rebooted, but it made no difference.
The email I mainly use is Outlook. When I use GoogleMail, I don’t have these issues!

On my other laptop, I don’t have Microsoft Office installed as I hate paying them and don’t have any of these issues.

Thanks

Bing is not a browser it is a search portal.
Have you attempted a reset on Firefox and or Chrome?

Did a reset as you suggest, but problem still persists unfortunately.

Try booting into Safe Mode with Networking and see of it happens then?
Temporally disable security software and see if it happens then?
Have you set one of the browsers as a default browser?
What happens if you copy paste the link into the browser?
Here is a Microsoft link with some other things you may try.

seen the hyperlinks not working in Outlook before and had success doing this…
When clicking a link from Outlook you see the following error popup: The problem is that your Browser is apparently not set as default for Outlook.  Personally, I see this whenever someone installs/uninstalls Google Chrome. Read more

do step 2.
It’s a bit out of date now, especially with Win10, but in a nutshell, it says to make Internet Explorer your default and make Outlook your default too, so check those out.
Do a reboot, try your email links and let me know.

Gentlemen, it seems you have cracked it. Rusty’s suggestion on a reset I think did the trick! It didn’t work 100% at first,
a bt intermittent, but today it appears to be 100% OK.

Thanks to all for helping me out.
