Help with X1 Carbon 2nd gen ethernet connection

Hi all

I am unable to get an ethernet connection on my 2nd gen Lenovo X1 Carbon (running Windows 10). I have an ethernet extender dongle and none of the lights are lighting up. I’ve got two ethernet adapters listed on my Network Connection settings. The first is an Intel I218-V and the second is TAP-Windows Adapter V9. Both state they’re unplugged when all is plugged in.

Having spent considerable time Googling, I’m struggling to find a solution to get the network adapter recognised. Updates suggest latest drivers are installed.

Can anyone help?

Just a thought, have you checked in the BIOS to make sure that LAN is enabled, not getting any LED activity on the Ethernet adaptor would normally suggest one of two things, the port was not enabled/or broke and/or the adaptor was broke or incompatible.

Not sure if you have had the computer from new but some people used to disable the LAN and wireless devices in the BIOS if they saw them in the boot order, not sure why though tbh.
