During working on my system windows updated automatically. I take around 3-4 hours and after updating outlook shows an Error. βCannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Outlook requires Microsoft Outlook Express 4.0.1 or greaterβ. My all data like old emails, calendar, and tasks saved in Outlook are now inaccessible.
Any help.
thatβs a new error for me, never knew Outlook ever required Outlook Express.
anyway, the solution would be to reinstall Outlook.
the Office installation contains all the programs it needs.
what is your Windows version now and what Office version are you running?
you may have a really old Office version which is no longer Win10 compatible.
Sounds like a major update which you may be able to roll back.
If you have recently had a major update to Windows (within the last month) you can roll it back to the previous state and see if that brings your Outlook back. Alternatively you can also remove individual updates. If that fixes your issues you should then MAKE A SYSTEM BACKUP which should allow you to recover your data if you have difficulty after updating again later.

Office 2003 support ended April 2014, and I saw/read somewhere recently that Office 2003 is not compatible with Win10 1803.
you may want to upgrade your Office if you ever upgrade to Win10 again. (Office 2007 still works fine on Win10)
as to your lost emails, find your outlook.pst file (and archive.pst) as that is what contains all your emails, notes, contacts, calendar etc.
usual location is C:\Documents & Settings\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook or C:\Users\AppData\Local\Microsoft\
once found, it can be imported into the current Outlook.
hopefully the upgrade and subsequent rollback hasnβt killed that file.
look in windows.old if you canβt find it, or use the Windows search feature.
did you have a backup prior to all this?
