my girlfriend uses a pc and just signed up for aol gold for $4.99 a month. She is having major problems where there was none before with free aol. She was told the older version would be discontinued by July 7 if she didn’t get the gold. Well now she is having issues with both versions. Her mail content doesn’t open and her contacts have been rearranged and some hard to find and address book is not the same. I use a Mac and never received such a notice and I am using old aol without issues. Any info or similar experiences out there?

William, my best advice is that both of you drop AOL completely. It’s not needed and, as you have witnessed, can be fraught with problems. Try Firefox and/or Google chrome, both typically trouble free.
