Worth holding on to IE?

Hi

I’m a XP Pro-loving dinosaur using an old HP Notebook.

I’m working these days mostly with Google Chrome as my browser because a lot of the sites I visit regularly no longer work (or want to work) with IE8.

So, I ask myself, why am I keeping IE on my machine?

Can I easily get rid of it? Are there implications that I should be aware of?

Some websites will only work when accessed by IE. That’s one of the reasons IE is still available on Windows 10.

That’s probably true. But no website I access regularly DOESN’T work on Chrome - and this is over 18 months, now. And I will never move to Windows 10 - or 7 - or 8. I love XP!:love:

IE 8 is obsolete because of it’s ancient security protocols.

Thank you for the info. My main concern, though, is how to uninstall IE without messing up anything else. Is it really as simple as pushing a couple of buttons?

No need to uninstall IE 8..just don’t use it. You can install any of these compatible browsers and just use it.

With Windows XP IE is integrated and cannot be removed with out causing XP to become unstable.
