Disk Write Error on Steam when Downloading Games

After getting a new pc, I bought an internal HDD to add more storage, but it started giving me disk write errors when dowloading games on steam. Usually if I restarted the error would go away and I could continue downloading but eventually it got so bad that I couldnt download anything new. I returned the drive, thinking that the problem was with that, but when I got a new one I got the same errors. Switching the Sata cable did not change anything so unless there is a problem with the motherboard I think it is a software issue but I am not sure how to fix it. Ive tried repairing the Steam library, clearing the download cache, running chkdsk, trying to uncheck the box that allows read and write for the steam folder (which didnt work) and clearing the disk. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be the issue?

    Grab us a Speccy.
    Download Speccy.

[HEADING=3]To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:[/HEADING]
    [ol]
[li]In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.[/li][li]In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.[/li][li]Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot dialog box. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.[/li][/ol]
Also include the Make, Model and Capacity of your PSU.

Even though it’s a new HDD, let’s do a simple check on it.

Download CrystalDiskInfo and run, then upload a screenshot of the result of the disk in question.

The PSU is the Real power Eco Silent 500 with a 500 Watt power capacity (i think), should noted that it is second hand.

What’s the capacity of the HDD?
Have you run a disk check on the drive?
Was the drive purchased new or is it second hand/new to you?

@Bastet Do you see a bunch of space under the initial post? No pics?

I could see it while in edit mode but not before or after.

@xrobwx71 I don’t see any excess space under the initial post.
However I see the attachment under a later post.

You have a GPU that requires a minimum of a 550W or above Gold efficiency rated PSU from one of the following, Corsair RM range, EVGA, Seasonic or Super Flower, seven year warranty minimum but preferably ten.

You have used junk PSU that ha no efficiency rating and is so weak that even when out of the box new it could only produce 396W and even that figure is questionable.

Regarding used PSUs, just don’t go there, the PSU is the most important PC component of all so always go new, quality and appropriate output, if you needed a heart transplant would you want a fit and healthy replacement or one from someone who smoked forty cigarettes a day
