When i try to run google, a Pop-up is saying I need to “get an app to open this ‘http’ link”. It provides a link to the MS store.
I can see firefox and edge in the microsoft store but anything i click on just leads to a “something went wrong. Try again later” screen…

Perhaps I need to give something internet access in Simplewall momentarily.
Sorry, I’ve made yet more work.

Other than that, it’s all bueno. Thanks for the tips.

Okay… WTF. You guys are getting another donation. You’re an absolute legend.

How did I not think of that…
There’s this weird phenomenon: once you’re being led through a process, you tend to stop thinking for yourself, right?
          (maybe that’s just me).

Anyways. I’ll get an update done once I get time to test the games out.

          Thanks

Nooo. I was getting hopeful there for a minute.
I played two hours of Helldivers 2 with zero problems. That’s about 1 hour and 50 minutes longer than I was getting before

After I was convinced that Helldivers was working fine, I installed the ubisoft launcher and ghost recon Wildlands (easy anti cheat was attached too)… Just over 1 hour into the Wildlands session, my game froze and got a critical livekernelevent 141 error yet again. I was able to force close it with task manager and the PC seemed fine after doing so.

Interestingly, I just noticed that earlier in the day there were 5 critical hardware errors reported back to back (1a8 and 1b8). This was before I had even installed my WiFi drivers.

I’ll apply all those changes in the BIOS that you’ve suggested and see if things improve. I’m already on the latest BIOS which makes things easy.
Just because it’s habitual at this point, I’ll also provide:
If the culprit is looking likely to be something to do with the Ubisoft Launcher or EazyAntiCheat, I’d happily purge them and never go back.
Hardware is looking like a possibility too though, right?
Either way, this evening was a glimmer of hope. I’ll get busy in the BIOS and report back.

PS. I know that I installed some apps on the OS partition. I’d incorrectly assumed that changing “where new content/apps are saved” in windows settings would do the trick. I realized too late that things were still installing on the C: partition but I can sort that later.

                          Okay.
                          Here’s where I’m up to:

I’m still getting lots of LiveKernelEvents in event viewer (141/1a8/1b8) but the only game that’s had issues since the fresh install is Wildlands. I can live with never playing that game again if I have to…

After I got those results and established a base line, I applied all of the recommended changes in the BIOS (24/04/25 version):
                          • XMP Enabled
                          • SOC 1.25 V
                          • VDDIO 1.35 V
                          • All Core Offset of -20
                          • PBO Auto (not MB limit) but with the PPT set manually to 130W
                          • Resizable BAR enabled

After saving and exiting the BIOS, the PC failed to POST. I simply had a black screen and the code “Ab” on the motherboard’s error code display along with red and yellow debug LEDs. The code Ab refers to a “setup Input Wait” error which basically means that it was stuck in the BIOS setup stage, waiting for input (I tried using the keyboard to no avail).
After a few more attempts to POST, I cleared the CMOS and decided to make the changes one at a time.
I started with just XMP and played another 2 hours of Helldivers 2 with no issues.

I’m torn. The exhausted part of me wants to just say “good enough” and leave it here but I know I should delve further into the rabbit hole. Truthfully, I don’t care much about Wildlands but I do want to know what’s causing it to consistently freeze. Also, the LiveKernelEvents and critical error oddities are concerning.
Perhaps it’s time for me to go and get the hardware tested.

For now, I’m going to bed, happy that my PC is somewhat more functional than it was last night.
Thank you for the help today Malnutrition.

                              Grab DDU 18.0.7.5.
Reboot to Safe Mode, run DDU → AMD → Clean & Restart (tick “prevent Windows Update…”).
Install Adrenalin 24.5.1 WHQL → Factory Reset box ticked → Minimal install (no ReLive, no overlay).
                              Disable in Adrenalin:

Anti-Lag+, Enhanced Sync, Overlay, AV1/HEVC streaming.

Give the GPU 10 s before Windows assumes it hung

Copy the content of the code box below, paste into notepad and save as GPU.reg
                              Save to desktop
Right click and select merge then reboot machine.
                              Code:
                              Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

                              [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers]
                              "TdrDelay"=dword:0000000a

                              [HEADING=1] Disable MPO if you haven’t already[/HEADING]

You said you applied the OverlayTestMode=5 fix—double-check that it’s still there after the driver clean-install.

[li]In Ubisoft Connect → Settings → General un-tick In-game overlay.[/li][li]In EAC folder rename amd_ags_x64.dll → amd_ags_x64.old to force the game to use the driver’s copy (fixes watchdogs in Wildlands and AC Valhalla).[/li][li]If Wildlands still hangs, launch it once with -eac_launcher to rebuild the EasyAntiCheat cache, then restore normal launching.[/li][/ul]

The failed POST (code Ab) was just training timing/voltage; the CPU never got the keyboard stage. Try:

                              Load EXPO I 6000 MT/s
                              SOC voltage 1.30 V
                              VDDIO MEM/VDDIO CCD 1.35 V / 1.05 V
                              ProcODT 48 Ω
Curve Optimizer leave Auto for now (no −20)
If that still sticks on Ab, drop one strap to EXPO @ 5800; 5800/6000 have no measurable FPS gap on X3D parts but extra IF margin can cut down random WHEA errors. AMD’s own AGESA notes call 6000 the “sweet spot”, not a requirement.

                                Grab DDU 18.0.7.5.
Reboot to Safe Mode, run DDU → AMD → Clean & Restart (tick “prevent Windows Update…”).
Install Adrenalin 24.5.1 WHQL → Factory Reset box ticked → Minimal install (no ReLive, no overlay).
                                Disable in Adrenalin:

Anti-Lag+, Enhanced Sync, Overlay, AV1/HEVC streaming.
