When i try to run google, a Pop-up is saying I need to “get an app to open this ‘http’ link”. It provides a link to the MS store.
I can see firefox and edge in the microsoft store but anything i click on just leads to a “something went wrong. Try again later” screen…
Perhaps I need to give something internet access in Simplewall momentarily.

With this tool you have full control over which comfort functions under Windows 10 and Windows 11 you wish to use, and you decide when the passing on of your data goes too far.

Nooo. I was getting hopeful there for a minute.
I played two hours of Helldivers 2 with zero problems. That’s about 1 hour and 50 minutes longer than I was getting before
After I was convinced that Helldivers was working fine, I installed the ubisoft launcher and ghost recon Wildlands (easy anti cheat was attached too)… Just over 1 hour into the Wildlands session, my game froze and got a critical livekernelevent 141 error yet again. I was able to force close it with task manager and the PC seemed fine after doing so.
Interestingly, I just noticed that earlier in the day there were 5 critical hardware errors reported back to back (1a8 and 1b8). This was before I had even installed my WiFi drivers.
I’ll apply all those changes in the BIOS that you’ve suggested and see if things improve. I’m already on the latest BIOS which makes things easy.
Just because it’s habitual at this point, I’ll also provide:
If the culprit is looking likely to be something to do with the Ubisoft Launcher or EazyAntiCheat, I’d happily purge them and never go back.
Hardware is looking like a possibility too though, right?

After saving and exiting the BIOS, the PC failed to POST. I simply had a black screen and the code “Ab” on the motherboard’s error code display along with red and yellow debug LEDs. The code Ab refers to a “setup Input Wait” error which basically means that it was stuck in the BIOS setup stage, waiting for input (I tried using the keyboard to no avail).
After a few more attempts to POST, I cleared the CMOS and decided to make the changes one at a time.
I started with just XMP and played another 2 hours of Helldivers 2 with no issues.
I’m torn. The exhausted part of me wants to just say “good enough” and leave it here but I know I should delve further into the rabbit hole. Truthfully, I don’t care much about Wildlands but I do want to know what’s causing it to consistently freeze. Also, the LiveKernelEvents and critical error oddities are concerning.
Perhaps it’s time for me to go and get the hardware tested.
For now, I’m going to bed, happy that my PC is somewhat more functional than it was last night.

Reboot to Safe Mode, run DDU → AMD → Clean & Restart (tick “prevent Windows Update…”).
Install Adrenalin 24.5.1 WHQL → Factory Reset box ticked → Minimal install (no ReLive, no overlay).
Disable in Adrenalin:
Copy the content of the code box below, paste into notepad and save as GPU.reg
Save to desktop
Right click and select merge then reboot machine.

If that still sticks on Ab, drop one strap to EXPO @ 5800; 5800/6000 have no measurable FPS gap on X3D parts but extra IF margin can cut down random WHEA errors. AMD’s own AGESA notes call 6000 the “sweet spot”, not a requirement.

[li]Do the fresh 24.5.1 driver install first—it alone fixes most RDNA 3 watchdogs.[/li][li]Make sure MPO is disabled and raise TdrDelay to 10 s.[/li][li]Kill the Ubisoft/EAC overlays or point them at the correct AGS DLL.[/li][li]Once the system is behaving, circle back to EXPO; run 5800 – 6000 MT/s only if it posts cleanly.[/li][/ul]
