Device manager keeps reconnecting

Hello there

So 2 years ago i built my first pc which took a while but i made it work and didnt have issues for like 6 months. Then randomly i started hearing a connect and disconnect sound.
i saw that my device manager kept refreshing. I also unplugged every usb that was insertet but the sound was still there.

I managed to turn off the sound but the refresh happens in the background still. this doesnt affect me much until i play a game where this refresh makes the game pause for a few second before it starts moving again. for example minecraft or elden ring. When i play league of legends this issue does not happen. its just with very specific games.

Idk if this is a hardware issue and i plugged the wrong cable (dont think its that because then it wouldnt have worked for the 6 months) or a software issue. Is anyone familiar with this issue?
Id be really grateful if anyone could help me out ive had this issue for way too long…

I have attached a video of the refresh. I also see that the power button on my pc has blue LED around it and it keeps flickering to red and blue every time those connect/disconnect sounds happen.

Welcome to PCHF Curry,

Apologies for the late reply, because you replied to your own OP it looked like you were already being helped, we need something to work with so please do the below;

Can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Looking at Speccy we can see a few things amiss but for now I will just mention a couple;

Great PSU but you have a Power Plan that sucks;

Active power scheme: High performance

Change the Windows Power Plan to Balanced, Ultra and High Performance are a form of overclocking that is known to cause stability and overheating issues, the setting should only be used for gaming type notebooks that have a discrete GPU that needs the extra power.

Are you aware of the issues that having different spec screens causes and especially when it comes to refresh rates, Citrix is likewise known to have refresh issues.

Oh didnβ€˜t know any of that i just asked in the store what hardware would work together and then got all the pieces and put them together. I will try to change the windows powerplan.
And i didnt quite get what you meant with the different spec screens what do they cause exactly? And i dont really use citrix i once downloaded it to check if i can work from home with it but i guess i forgot to uninstall it.

Iβ€˜m at home tomorrow again and will let you know if it worked thank you for the help!!

Some info here regarding having different refresh rates.

Somewhat confused by this as looking at the screen info we have you appear to have a twelve year old ASUS display along with a five year old Viewsonic.

You are welcome

Ooh yea the that was my first ever pc screen from way back that i just use as a second monitor now and the other one i bought a while back, hence the difference. Is it bad for the pc to have different monitors with different specs age?

As you are finding out it is bad for performance, best way to explain it, can you imagine your left eye quickly processing images at 144Hz while the right eye is only able to process the same images at a much slower rate of 60Hz, a GPU cannot send out two different refresh rates at the same time just as our eyes cannot process images independently.
