You say that games crash, what happens exactly, what games are involved and what have your tried, no point in suggestions being made here that you have done already.

See my canned explanation below for as to why we need to know what actually happens;
Software such as Windows can crash and when it does crash you get a BSOD and when enabled a crash dmp is generated, programs or games when they crash can on occasion close to the desktop but the computer will still be 100% functional.

Hardware failure such as a weak power supply and/or overheating are not software related and when a computer for example suddenly turns off, freezes or the screen goes black etc the behaviour should be described as the “computer shut down unexpectedly” or froze etc and not as having crashed as the latter implies a software issue as opposed to an obvious hardware issue when described properly.

Having the correct info means that helpers will not be looking for a software issue when the problem is clearly hardware related.

Download then run Speccy ( free ) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

as far as games crashing go i play most of them on steam and most games i try to play will not launch (terria, eldin ring , portal 2)
when i press launch om steam it says loading for about 10-15 seconds then it will go back to the launch option as if it never launched

then there are games that will launch but crash extremely often ( baulders gate 3, persona 3 reloaded, sea of thieves, dying light)
some are more manageable then others but this is extremely annoying and i don’t get any error pop ups it just closes out

the only game I’ve been able to consistently play on steam is a game called banana shooter after that i have 2 games installed that arent through the steam launcher one being minecraft which works fine and the other being overwatch 2 which crashes after roughly 30 min

Ive done multiple memory diagnostics, a stress tests, factory reset it a few times and have constantly stayed updated on my drivers but nothing seems to come back out of place no bad cells, no overheating nothing

this pretty much the summary for what’s been going on with my computer but i do want to take a moment to thank you for your help and apologize for the late response i had though this post was going to fall on deaf ears and forgot to check it for a few days hopefully you don’t feel i wasted your time

Sorry but that does not tell us what actually happens, we need to know if the games simply close and you end up back within Windows, if you get a BSOD and crash dmps get generated, if the computer freezes or outright turns off.

We can see a couple of things of note in Speccy but the one common factor in this is that an Broadband Internet connection is required and you are using a wireless connection which sucks for gaming, you need an Ethernet connection all day for online gaming.

Your hardware can eat these games for breakfast so I am confident that this is a software or a connectivity issue.

the game just simply closes and i only get the game not responding message on some of them and the ones that wont launch just act like there gonna launch for a second then dont i can take a recording of this happening if youd like.

Sounds more like an Internet/game server connection issue to me.

Let us know if you want to test your hardware, if that gets a clean bill of health it will go a long way to confirming the above.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply as we have to read the full post to make sure nothing gets missed, thanks.

the only thing that confuses me about that is I’m having issues with games that don’t require any internet connections such as terraria and portal 2. regardless your still the expert especially compared, id like to test my hardware and ask if you had any recommendations on how to fix the internet/ game server connection issue

It may well not be internet connection related but you have a high end build that is not showing any problems in Speccy and while I`m not a gamer myself so not much help when it comes to FPS over the years through helping people I have found that when it comes to online gaming there are three things that hinder gaming, a poor internet connection, browser security plug ins and using VPNs, sort them and you are usually good to go.

In addition to the above, as mentioned you are using a wireless connection for gaming which is a massive no no and if you look at your Speccy report you can see that there is a connection issue going on by the size of the connection list identified as (Querying… ) etc.

Something for you to do to see how your present set up handles video when not online gaming;

Use the free versions at the following links;

Stress test your GPU with Furmark

Check your FPS etc with SUPERPOSITION

NB: End users cannot fix game server connection problems, only the game server owners can do that.
