Iβm setting up a new Win 11 system and migrating my data/files and will be using the same programs. Should I copy over the App Data folder from the Win 10 machine to the Win 11 one? Is there any need to do this? Is there a reason not to do it?

Most programs write data to the registry and will not work if you copy from one to the other.
There are some programs that are stand alone and can be copied. -
The usual suspects I dig out of AppData is Outlook nicknames, signatures, dictionary additions, and of course the .pst files if you have POP3 accounts.
Then there is browser stored stuff - password, bookmarks, etc in the .json files.
Also you may have Apple MobileSync backups from your phone.
Of course, it all depends on what software you have and where it stores its crap.
You certainly should not copy the whole AppData folder over to the new system.Comment
