Files and Folders Take Unusually Long to Open?

About a month ago I noticed it was/has been taking unusually long time to open files and folders, even on my SSDs and m.2 NVME drives. I’m talking about 2-3 mintues to open a folder sometimes, I’ve had to just close the windows multiple times becuase it says it’s stopped working. I’m also having trouble when transferring files. I sometimes have to drag and drop a file 4-5 times before windows registers that I’m trying to copy the file over. I had heard that a Windows update was causing a problem with making drives really slow but I can’t seem to find any info on it so i’m not sure if I have that update. Any help would be appreciated. I’d really like to get this solved. I’m on the second to last latest version on Windows, i had uninstalled the latest update thinking that was the issue but I’m still experiencing the problem.

What Windows version are you running - 10 or 11?
Did you install anything prior to the problem occurring?
Are you running any third party antivirus software?
      Please try:
Right click on start & choose powershell/terminal with admin & type/copy & paste these cmds one at a time then click Enter:
      SFC /SCANNOW
      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
      DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

I’m running Windows 11. As far as I rememebr I didn’t install anything prior to the problem although i did update my BIOs about a month and a half ago, so maybe that could be the problem. I am running BitDefender AV and about that, I did notice last week that when transferring a file that my CPU was pegged at 100%, when i opened task manager. It was showing Bit Defender using a pretty huge amount of CPU. I closed Bit Defender by right click, End Tasking it and the file transfer immediately sped up and transferred fine, but since then I don’t seem to be having the problem with Bit Defender but I’m still having a problem with folders taking a very long time to open and having to drag and drop files multiple times before Windows registers that I’m trying to move a file.
I’ve checked all my disks with Crystal Disk Info and all are in good health. All disks have been optimized/trimmed/defragged. As far as i know i am allowing indexing on most all of my drives.
SFC came back clear, nothing wrong, and both the other powershell scans completed successfully.

I would uninstall Bitdefender using their Un install tool or Revo Uninstaller free as this may be the cause as Bitdefender is scanning each file as it is accessed.
Win 10/11 had Defender which is now on-par with the top AV software.

uninstalled Bit Defender and so far so good. My folders are now back to normal so far. Also when copying files over it’s registering it right away so think that solved it. I’ll give the final verdict tomorrow, but so far so good.
