How to disable on-screen notification when pressing Numlock?
Hi
So I’ve got a Dell XPS8930 with Win 11 and I get an irritating on-screen notification whenever I press the Numlocks key. How can I disable it? I’ve been through all the Settings menus.
Tx for any help.
Are you using a third party keyboard? I know Logitech Setpoint has onscreen notifications like that.
Can you provide a screenshot/photo of the notification?
What’s the make & model of the keyboard (if not Dell)?
Have you checked under the BIOS for keyboard notification settings?
Do you have the Dell Peripherals manager installed? If yes then check there. If nothing then you may have to uninstall this to remove the notification.
There’s no make or model on the keyboard. I swapped it for the one off the old unit, also a Dell XPS, and got the same thing. This is new in Win 11, compared to Win 10. I don’t know how to check the BIOS, please explain. I’ll come back to you about the Dell Periperals manager, probably tomorrow.
I cannot see the indicator on my screen whenever I turn on and off my Caps Lock, Number Lock, Scroll Lock, and the Track Pad lock whenever I press them. What shall I do?
So I thought I’d update on the current status. I got a reply from Dell which was a youtube video basically saying to turn off the keyboard toggles, which was already off, and turn off another setting. Didn’t work.
They offered to remote access my system but I’ve deferred that for the moment, I hate that stuff on my system, who knows what they could do.
I’ll have another look at the link above tomorrow.
OK, so I tries the links shown above. The first one, I got the same result as the OP which is that the Screen Configuration link doesn’t show so it doesn’t work.
The second link duplicates the Toggle key link which I’ve already disabled, and that doesn’t work either. It’s the same as the Youtube link which Dell sent me. I may try the TrayStatus program at some point, I suppose.
So I think we’ve hit a dead end, unless anyone else has any ideas.
