Some applications don't open unless I open them as administrator

I’ve got this problem for a while. As the title says some apps won’t start unless I open them as administrator. I’ve got this issue on every office app (word, powerpoint, excel), Overwolf and VMware Workstation 17 Player.
I’ve tried to:
• run sfc /scannow, dism.exe DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
• create another user and try to run the applications from there
• uninstall and reinstall the applications with revo uninstaller pro
but unfortunately no luck…
I hope you can help me.

Edit: here’s a video:

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Others may have more to suggest on this.

Is this something that just started or has been happening since?

Do you have CCleaner installed? Looks like you do.
Hello, since some days I got an big issue when it comes to office. I updated my windows like a week ago everything was going alright, but when I tried to use microsoft word some daays ago nothing happened. I clicked on the Icon and nothing happened. I…

I suddenly began having this issue and tried all of the suggested options provided. I then found a post that suggested a link to CC Cleaner (which I had installed and use from time to time). I had just done a clean Office 365 uninstall / reinstall via the special repair tool from MS and it wasn’t until I uninstalled CC Cleaner that suddenly all was back to normal. Just adding this to the post in case anyone else has CC Cleaner and this issue.

Windows 11 was an update or came installed?

@LoryKiller - did you ever run the Registry cleaner part of CCleaner?

Yes I did but I think it is related to the sleep function that should decrease the number of background processes.

hmmm… we may never know - until next time!

but I would not be using the Reg cleaning portion of CCleaner.
here is the official wording on that from MS; Microsoft support policy for the use of registry cleaning utilities - Microsoft Support

plus if you check out the Piriform forum, there’s plenty of people who have had issues with using the reg cleaning process. if you do, at least do the offered backup of the registry.
