Background prcoesses

Hey everyone,
I have an hp envy x360 and use it for school and gaming, but lately it has been a little bit slow. I checked the task manager and found that it is running upwards of 120 background processes. How do i make it so that it only runs what is absolutely necessary? When playing video games it cant handle much more than the game

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

What is the brand and model name or number of the PSU.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Not what was asked for, CCleaner is a third party program that if folk don`t know what it is they should not use, Speccy provides information about the hardware specifications and what if any bloatware there is on a computer, being a HP yours will be weighed down with it.

Follow the steps below to get a Speccy url and paste it into your next reply.

Can you please post the minitoolbox log?

For starters you can remove McAfee, windows defender will protect your machine just fine, Mcafee is a resource hog and will only serve to slow your machine. I suggest that you remove it with GeekUninstaller. Then run the Mcafee removal tool and reboot the machine.
