Taskbar Audio, WiFi and Calendar Randomly Stop Working.

As my title says the audio, wifi and time/date icons on the taskbar will randomly stop working. I can right click them and bring up a context menu but I canโ€™t click them to bring up their function. Iโ€™ve tried restarting windows explorer and it doesnโ€™t solve the problem. Iโ€™m on Windows 11 Pro version 21H2 OS Build 22000.527 also Iโ€™m using Transparent Taskbar.

So other can assist let get a speccy report.

Was this and update install or a fresh install or did the system come with Windows 11?

Do not forget to post the make and model of the PSU if this is a desktop.

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box

does the problem still occur if you log in under another user, or when the PC is booted into Safe Mode?

it happens randomly so I canโ€™t really make it happen. After I made this initial post it worked fine up until today and now itโ€™s doing it again. Iโ€™ll go ahead and run speccy again and maybe you can compare them because the first time i ran speccy it was working fine.

have you tried removing Transparent Taskbar?
and, even though those icons behave weirdly, the PC functionality is unaffected - everything you do works?

I havenโ€™t tried removing transparent taskbar yet, I can do that right now and see what happens. Everything else does work fine, no other problems except for this.

Removing Translucent Taskbar didnโ€™t solve the problem. To be honest at this point Iโ€™m wondering if the only option is to โ€œrefreshโ€ Windows 11. I really hate to do that though, it takes hours to reinstall all my programs and get Windows back to how I like it. I do have backups of all my data, and a clone of mty OS drive but that wouldnโ€™t work since it would just reinstall the cloned copy of Windows that has the problem.

create another user account and log in under that new profile and see if the system tray behaves itself.

So once again today the volume/network button isnโ€™t working. I created a local account just now and signed into that account, and the volume and network button works. I switched back over to my main account and the volume and network DONโ€™T work. I woner if itโ€™s maybe a driver issue, the new account is brand new, it asked me to install geforce experiance and download and install the latest Nvidia drivers.

woo-hoo.
that sounds promising.

unlikely a driver issue, as they are at the PC level.
since it worked on the new account, that would suggest a setting or service that is started at the User level.
logging out and back in on the original account may have reset, or updated, something.
