    check your proxy settings.
go to Control Panel, Internet options, Connections, LAN settings, and make sure ALL boxes not not ticked.

then go to Control Panel, Network & Sharing centre, Change adapter settings, right click your wireless adapter, Properties, untick Internet Protocol Ve4rsion 6, and double click Internet Protocol Version 4, make sure the first option in each section is set to Obtain automatically.

You need to change your browser.
        Try Opera or K-Melon
Chrome,Firefox IE etc will not work.
        K-Melon http://kmeleonbrowser.org/
Opera Opera Web Browser | Faster, Safer, Smarter | Opera

you could try the FileHippo website to get XP compatible versions of Chrome or Firefox.
but I fear not even that site would have versions going back to the XP days.

true, but the same applies to XP itself!

What software and why not use compatibility mode for XP?

Most hardware is not combatable with older version of windows you will not get the full benefit of the processor ram and other such.

Contact the company to see if they have a newer version and what happens when you run in Windows 10.

What software we might know of a program that might work better or if there is a newer version.

Then you should be able to use using Windows 10 and not have to install Windows XP to get the software to work properly.

One would think that they would honor you will have to discuss that with them.

There may be other software that is out that can preform the same functions.

if you want screen shots of my post #2, I no longer have access to my virtual machine which I used for XP.
those instructions are for Win10, but XP is not far removed.

                          where are you getting stuck?

@PeterOz - do you still have access to a XP PC?

can you convert my steps in post #2 so they are relevant for an XP user? (y)
