    Windows Pc factory restart

I was factory restarting a Windows vista laptop so I could do an upgrade to Windows 7. I was doing the repair system through the advanced boot tool. But someone I live with powered off the laptop and now it won’t turn on

since you were factory resetting it, I’ll assume you have all your data backed up and don’t care what’s on the drive.
any reason why you want to upgrade to Win7 and not Win10?

either way, get a Windows image onto a bootable CD or USB stick and reload from scratch via that method.

or really start from scratch if all else fails and use the laptop manufactures recovery/installation CD’s that it shipped with.
there may also be a recovery partition to help you with that.

good point - but check the manufactures website for Win10 drivers - just in case.
in my experience, many Win7 drivers will work for Win10 (but not all admittedly)
yes - Win7 is better than Vista, but you’re still upgrading to an unsupported OS.
