Good dedicated XP browser (maintained and kept current)

First post here, so hope someone finds it usefull.

For anyone still using XP occasionally (or permanently), give this a try. I’ve been using it for quite some time, and updated to a new version quite recently.

Being kept current for XP is pretty cool. Take note of the “no automatic updates”, although I’ve no complaints about that. Easy enough to check now and then.

    Mypal:

Ignore the “fedora” in the address as I’m running a portable 32 bit version for windows.

I haven’t dealt with XP for… let’s see… at least 5 years but don’t Chrome and Firefox still do XP compatible versions?
it’s funny how once you stop using a system you lose all track (and care factor ) of what’s going on it that world.

The last chrome version (I actually use Slimjet) to work with XP is quite old and won’t work properly on many websites including our old haunt.

The same goes for older versions of Firefox which usually spit out any uptodate extensions (newer versions of Firefox max out my CPU). Nor do they usually work with CAPTCHA windows. Don’t you just hate those things? Wish I had a £ for evey car, bus and traffic light I’ve checked over the years.

I’ve got MyPal running with extensions Firefox or Palemoon would spit out, my favourite theme, and so far I haven’t encountered any issues with websites.

Saying that, I hope Sods Law doesn’t jump up now and bite me on the backside.

          Hi phillpower2.

Do you mean updates to “MyPal”?

Actually I’ve just checked and there is an update … version 28.8.1, and the release info is interesting …
          This is the plain update

Also i have set automatic updates, but it left disabled in the browser. Enable it and next time you will get automatic update.

Contribute to Feodor2/Mypal development by creating an account on GitHub.

So MyPal should have “automatic updates” now on from this new release. I’ll find out after installing it.

          EDIT: Added link.

Didin’t intend that ad to be in the link, it wasn’t in the address I copied and pasted.

Unfortunately I was too late to edit it out. Wasn’t aware of the 5 minute limit.

                Just saw your reply.

This is of course new to me. The topic being info and not a problem I would never have marked it as solved.

What would you normally do with a topic that isn’t a problem as such? Just so I can keep things right.

Is there any more info you wish to contribute to this thread or shall we close it?
