    USB needs formatting (on XP)?

Hello, i’m not sure if I’m in the right place, but let’s see.

I have twice (on different PCs) copied from PC to USB memory stick, but when I go to view it tells me file invalid and that it needs formatting. Although copying/transferring appeared to work at the time there’s no sign of any data.

    Any ideas, please?

    Thanks!

    Hello

It’s been a while on XP for me so here’s a possible fix.

Take a look at this link for a fix. How To Make Corrupt USB Jump Drives Work Again

It’s probably using exFAT, which is not supported in XP. Format the drive as NTFS and you’ll be OK

Before you format it to the NTFS I would pull all the data off the drive and store it on one of the other systems you stated in post # 1.
