When trying to open Adobe PDF Reader today I received an error message “api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing”. Googled it and ran a repair through Win 7 Programs “repair” to no avail. Uninstalled and downloaded twice, same message. Then downloaded GIMP and had the same message. So, is this a WIN 7 issue or ?? I downloaded a free PDF reader and it works fine.

Windows 7 issue
You might also attempt a SFC and see if that corrects the issue.

Need fixes for api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll error. It appears when trying to install Adobe Premiere Pro. It shows up as a system error and states that the program can't start due to this dll missing. I tried reinstalling as the message suggests.
Windows users report this issue when a computer shows an error message stating the missing api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll while trying to open a program. In most cases, it either means that Universal CRT, a part of Visual C++ Redistributable, has failed to install correctly, or the file got corrupted.
